Once again our Federal Police are in damage control mode after doing very little to arrest and charge the 4 teens who through their illegal actions, caused a young girl named Rehtaeh Parsons to commit suicide. However the group ‘Anonymous’ in just a few days was able to get the identities of these boys and inform the public of their finding via the internet. Now, after the fact RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson said “the RCMP would be open to working with the online hacker group Anonymous on the Rehtaeh Parsons case, but “they’ve got to take their masks off.”
How come with all the technology available to the RCMP on the tax payer’s dime, they couldn’t accomplish what a group of hackers could do. The whole purpose of Anonymous is being Anonymous, much like Crime Stoppers.
The problem with reporting an accident or possible crime to the police is that they interrogate you over the phone before they even seem to worry about the reason why you’re calling. I don’t need the aggravation, so I don’t bother to call any more. I’d sooner call Crime Stoppers.
One cannot help but wonder how Canada is being protected from terrorists and crime when the RCMP, our so-called elite cops get beat out by a group of internet hackers. When I grew up the RCMP was respected worldwide, but now with so much bad press over the last number of years, one begins to question if it’s time to overhaul this outdated institution with the red coats and boy scout hats and move into the 21st century.
Any ideas on what we could call this new police force??
